The alternative rock band, Selfish Gene that garnered countless rave reviews in the 90s, unites and releases new songs for the first time in 20 years.
Selfish Gene was formed in In Tel Aviv in 1991. They were one of the first and only bands to sing in English in Israel. They gathered many fans, and were chosen by Sonic Youth to open for them in their shows in Israel, in support of their 96’ Washing Machine album.
In 1997 the band members took off for London to try their luck there. In London they shared a home, and began performing at London clubs such as The Barfly, Water Rats and Dublin Castle.
3 years after landing in London, the band disbanded. Today, 20 years after , 'Selfish Gene' is facing the release of a new mini-album, which includes new songs written and recorded over the past year.
